I'm planning a ride on the Lehigh River Gorge trail from Glen Onoko (Jim Thorpe) to White Haven and back. The plan is to stop along the way at the Rockport Access (midway point) and Lehigh Tannery. This is a very scenic ride along the banks of the Lehigh, and the train from Jim Thorpe also runs along the route.

The trail is mostly crushed stone and hard-packed gravel/dirt and can be ridden by nearly all road bikes. There are a few very short sections of looser sand or dirt however. There is a very gentle uphill grade (1% to 2%) heading north from Glen Onoko, so the return is very easy. This will be a slow C- ride of 45 or so miles, so will take a few hours. Needless to say, no one will be dropped.

Jim Thorpe is about 90 or so minutes from Delco.

If enough folks are interested, I'd be happy to host a post-ride gathering on the beach at Pleasant Valley West, about 8 miles north of town. If the weather stays warm, riders can take a swim in the lake, and we can bar-b-que up some burgers and dogs as well.
